There are certain requirements in order to qualify to get an Instant Confidential Marriage License.


 

We are Authorized Agents/Notaries of Los Angeles County and are authorized to Issue Confidential Marriage Licenses for weddings that take place in Los Angeles County.

 

We can also perform the Wedding Ceremony at the same time.

 

There are certain requirements in order to qualify to get an Instant Confidential Marriage License.

All couples that want to get a Confidential Marriage License must state that they are living together ( the definition of living together is very vague).


Ceremony must take place within Los Angeles County (see List of Cities Below.

Both parties must appear together and produce Picture ID "Proof of Identity"  such as a Driver's License, State ID Card, Passport or Alien Resident Card. They must be current and not expired.

 

Photo and age verification is mandatory. A birth certificate or baptismal record may be presented along with a picture form identification to show your full legal name. All documents must be in English. Documents in any other language must be submitted with an English translation by a certified translator. For Foreign Citizens only a passport is is accepted.

Both MUST be over 18.

 

Parties must be unmarried. A previous marriage is valid until the final date of dissolution. Written proof of a divorce or the dissolution of a previous marriage is required, if the event occurred within the last two years.

 

If the final dissolution was more than two years, written proof may not be required, but the date of the final dissolution must be provided at the same time the license is requested.

 

Parties who have entered into a State Register Domestic Partnership must provide proof of termination, if the termination occurred within the last two years or less. If the termination was more than two years, written proof may not be required, but the date of the termination must be provided at the same time the license is requested.

  

Proxy marriages are not legal in California AT ALL


What you DO NOT need:

A blood test or health certificate are NOT required to obtain a marriage license.

 

There is NO residence or citizenship status requirement. You do not need to live in either California, Los Angeles or the United States to qualify for the confidential marriage license. Anyone from any Country can get married in California as long as long as they meet the legal requirements and have the proper ID


 

Questions and Answers.

 

Q. What is the difference between a Confidential License and a Public License?

 

A. PUBLIC:
• You can get married anywhere in the State of California;
• You need at least one witness during your ceremony; and
• The Marriage Record is recorded and made available to the public.

CONFIDENTAL: (this is the type of license you are being issued today)
• You must state you are living together as a couple;
• You have to get married in the County it was issued.
• No witnesses are required
• The Marriage record is recorded but is confidential and is only available to the two married parties.

 

Q. Is their a waiting period to get a Confidential Marriage License?

 

A. No. They can be issued on the spot as long as the required information shown above is completed. It is faster and easier if the application is filled out ahead of time to facilitate the completing of the paperwork.

 

Q. Do we need a Blood Test?
